For 3 years, I was the sole researcher on a design prototyping team that explored mixed reality experiences for Apple's visionOS. In this time, our team contributed significantly to the design of system interactions and app UX.

As a member of an input technology incubation group at Facebook Reality Labs, I led both HCI and experience research for a wristworn input device. I collaborated cross-functionally among research scientists, Unity prototypers, product management, and industrial design.

In 2018, Fitbit sought to refresh its family of smartwatches. As a first step, I led foundational research to update the company's perspective on the value people derived from their smartwatches. Insights informed strategy, feature set, component selection, and marketing, among others.

In 2015, Facebook's composer feature set had outgrown its design with plans to increase still. The redesign, which persists to the present day, was clearer, more extensible, and matched users' mental model of the task.

To signal changes in blood glucose, we designed notifications sent via a single-color on-eye LED. I led the human factors research and considerations while collaborating with an ethnographer to understand the needs of those with Type-1 diabetes.
